LEISURE, a soul electronic collective from Oakland, has released a new album, a new chapter in the band's exploration of the subtleties of emotion and groove. The new album is produced with a more organic and live recording method, focusing on the "living sense of essential evolution as a band". The last tour we did was the most live shows ever, and we wanted to reflect more of a live feel in the production. So this time, instead of using a lot of drum breaks and loops as we have in the past, we focused on live recording." In addition, specialists in stringed instruments, brass, piano, and background vocals were brought in to pursue sound possibilities that transcend the skills of each member. Thematically, the album is a rich tapestry of sound that weaves together elements of authenticity, humanity, and the joy of celebrating creation. The lyrics address universal themes of love, loss, connection, hope, and the purpose of life, while the rich tone and laid-back groove of LEISURE's unique sound.Rooted in reality, yet nostalgic and futuristic at the same time, the sound echoes the spirit of Frank Lloyd Wright's "Taliesin West" architecture, which was the visual inspiration for the album.
