Description:
Since the release of his first album "SENBE-BUTON" in 2006, DEJI has been consistently releasing and performing as a solo artist, and has also continued to perform at numerous events. Wheels Of Fortune~", his eighth solo album! It has been 4 years since his 7th album "GHOST", which embodied the fundamental spirit and will of his activities as a rapper, and after the Corona Disaster and his activities as a member of the unit "A Gang Of Wanderers" with Tama-chan and Tamai Kosuke, whom he met in Tama-Tachikawa, he has been asking himself what he should be as a rapper. The words of a man who continues to ask himself what he should be as a rapper have been written here once again. His orthodox rhymes and storytelling style, backed up by a 25-year career, are still there, and his unique word choice with humor is like a one-on-one meeting with his boss, which shakes the listener's brain. It is not an eccentric style, but in the rapidly changing HipHop scene of the 2020s, it is like "katsudon (pork cutlet served on top of rice in an interrogation room)" - does it really exist? Does it really exist or not? The endangered lime and flow flavors are like a nostalgic taste of mother's miso soup. With the unprecedented freestyle boom and the birth of rap stars from all over Japan, not a day goes by when you don't hear a rap-style verse on a CRT. The man who feeds his family and survives in Japan's underground hip-hop scene since the early 2000s, wakes up at 5 a.m. every weekday to catch the first train out of the city and face his eighth solo album with the determination to create a stir. The young man who began holding the microphone in his teens has since entered his 40s, started a family, and become a father, making it difficult for him to spend his money and time on his own. In such a situation, we don't need to hear the common compliments, which cannot be called compliments, for mid-career to veteran musicians, who are "great just for continuing to hold the microphone" or "great just for releasing a solo album. Is it a good quality HIPHOP that sticks with the listener? This is the pride of DEJI, and we hope you will enjoy it. EGU, a classmate of DEJI's from his elementary and high school days in Saga, and who survived the Tokyo underground scene together as 2 MCs of Kalliostro in the early days of their activities in Tokyo, is now retired from his activities as a rapper, but he has accepted DEJI's enthusiastic offer to join as the only guest performer on this album, EGU is the only RAP guest performer on this album. EGU's skill is evident in the fact that they were a desired unit at the time. The producers, who form the foundation of the rap music, are also very versatile. MASS-HOLE, the man who reigns over Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, and embodies hip-hop, produced "A Drop of the Big River," the last song on the album, and the heavy beat, colored by the man who leads the scene as a rapper and producer, closes the album with a magnificent melody. The impact of his solo album "ze belle" released in 2021 is still fresh in our memories. DJ KRUTCH, who released his solo album "SOPHIC2 Deluxe Edition" as a producer, continues his participation from the previous album. He is also in charge of the album's main song, "Kono Mukai Yama ni" ("This White Mountain"). He is also a back-up DJ for many famous artists such as KEN THE 390 and SONOMI. This is his first encounter with DEJI as a solo artist. The collaboration started with "A Gang of Wanderers" and ended with this album. The sense of a man who travels all over the country on his travels, and his heavy and upper beat sense shines through. Ma'Ko, who is based in Ichinoseki, Iwate Prefecture, produced "Journey" on DEJI's 6th album "Kuso no Hito" and "GHOST" and "Smoked Silver" on the 7th album, and provided two songs for this album as well. The embodiment of Boom Bap, who has been honing his skills in Michinoku, also makes his presence felt on this album. We hope you will enjoy the ability of this masterful artist to whom the term UNSIGNED HYPE in HIPHOP can be applied. 57Move, who is well-known as an engineer, provided two songs as a producer for this album, following the smash hit "Casual Days" on the 7th album. He has acquired a lot of experience in studio work, and his direction is responsible for the exciting middle part of the album. As Special Sound Advisor for this album, he provided total support for mixing and mastering, and supervised the entire album. SIRCHIN, who produced almost all the songs on the "Cagliostro EP" released in 2003, has produced numerous DEJI songs and is responsible for the title track "Wheel of Fate" on the current album. After more than 20 years of association with DEJI, the groove maestro SIRCHIN is becoming more and more mature. There is a producer named Ego Da Template. After receiving information from INNTANA, a close friend of Ego Da Template, and after hearing many great songs on Andersen's album "everywhere, nowhere", DEJI made an enthusiastic offer to provide the music for this album. Ego Da Template's signature skill of "catchy melodies with a perfect sense of balance that does not deviate from good HIPHOP" is on full display on this album, so don't miss out on the highlights of the last half of the album that Ego Da Template is responsible for. DJ H!ROKi, who worked with EGU as a DJ in the 2MC1DJ unit "Kalliostro," also served as the total producer for DEJI's 4th album, is currently expanding his activities as a DJ, appearing at numerous events in and around Tokyo. He performs at many events in Tokyo and its suburbs, warming up the floor with his groove-filled performances. The highlight of this album is a chance encounter between the three of them over the course of time on Inaho pt. 3, a memorial track. DJ 1an joins in on scratching on the two tracks produced by 57Move.As DEJI's synchronizer in the soul music study group GALAXY, he has been DJing on the streets for a long time and has released several mix CDs such as BEER STOR. The charm of scratching that colors songs was cultivated on the streets. He has been releasing several mix CDs such as BEER STOR, etc. He has been demonstrating his excellent skills without regret, and adds color to the albums of his peers. ISAMI, who handles artwork, had a chance encounter with DEJI after listening to DEJI's 1st album "SENBE-BUTON", and handles all the artwork from his 4th album "JI-QUESTION-JI-ANSO" onward, and is the face of the album. The artwork of ISAMI, who has worked with DEJI for a long time as a designer, a human being, and an expressive person, embodies the spirit of DEJI and ignites the hearts of soldiers in various places. track 1 Scratched by DJ H!ROKi track 5,6 Scratched by DJ 1an track 1,3 Produced by Ma'Ko track 2 Produced by にっちょめ track 4 Produced by SIRCHIN track 7 Produced by DJ KRUTCH (Y-VINE PRODUCTION) track 8 Produced by Ego Da Template track 9 Produced by MASS-HOLE track 5,6 Produced,Mixed by 57Move at.ODORI Other Sounds recorded & mixed by KOSUKE TAMAI Mastered by KOSUKE TAMAI Art work by ISAMI (Kawasaki Artfully) ■DEJIプロフィール ・1981年生まれ。九州は佐賀県出身、2000年より活動開始。東京都立川在住のソロMC。He has released seven solo albums under the name DEJI and plans to release his eighth album "Wheels Of Fortune ~Wheels Of Fortune~" in 2025. He has also made guest appearances on a number of songs, including the "Road to Super Rap" series with KEN THE 390 and TARO SOUL. Recently, he participated in the song "The SAGA Continues..." with K DUB SHINE, KOHEI JAPAN, and KEN THE 390, which is about the history of the local Saga clan at the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate during the Meiji Restoration. and appeared on Sunset Live, provided music for the s**tkingz stage show "HELLO ROOMIES! and appeared with his ally METEOR at the Ringo Music Festival, as well as at NEET Tokyo. In 2023, he released four singles as "A Gang of Wanderers," a unit with Tama-chan and Tamai Kowske, a strong group gathered in Tama-Tachikawa.
