This time, it has been re-released at a special price and in limited quantities! Included in this album are classics of Christmas songs that everyone knows such as "Silent Night," "Silver Bells," "Jingle Bells," and "Wham! Last Christmas" and Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You.The simple piano-centered arrangements and the emphasis on delicate nuances in minor keys are in the vein of the "Solo Piano" series, of which he has released three works to date. Christmas is a time of passionate emotions for me. It is a time of superficial happiness, but it is also a time of self-reflection and mourning for the sad events of the year. Playing Christmas songs in a minor key makes Christmas more poignant and real. - The Chilly Gonzales album is primarily instrumental, but includes three vocal tracks. Two of Gonzales' trusted singers, Feist and Jarvis Cocker, guest on the album. Among them, "The Banister Bough," with Feist on vocals, is the only original new song on the album. Gonzalez's talent as a melody maker shines through in this sophisticated and beautiful melody, and Feist's warm voice is also superb. It is a great song that could become a new classic Christmas song.Jarvis Cocker provides vocals on two songs, "In the Bleak Midwinter" and "Snow Is Falling In Manhattan". He has a dandy voice, especially on the cover of "Snow Is Falling In Manhattan," released under the name Purple Mountains by David Berman, the lone US indie singer/songwriter who died in 2019, with Feist on the chorus. Feist joined in on the chorus. Joined by cello and flute, the arrangement is as poetic and moving as a scene from a movie. Gonzalez stayed at home to work on this album after his scheduled tour was canceled due to Corona. This album is a heartfelt Christmas present from Gonzalez, bringing a moment of peace at the end of a year that has been difficult for everyone.
