The new Bach album by Shagaegh Nosrati, who also showed a new side of his talent on Charles-Valentin Alkan's superb album (8553104), is published under the modest title of "Exercises for Keyboard Instruments" but features an impressive collection of dances in a diverse mix of styles, "6 The "Six Partitas BWV.825-830" are recorded. Instead of recording the pieces in order of their work number, the overture-like character of the works (Overture No. 4 and Sinfonia No. 2) is placed at the beginning of the CD, and the balance between major and minor keys and the contrast between the first and last pieces are also taken into consideration in assembling this 2-CD album.Nosrati, who acknowledges Bach as the greatest composer of all time and says, "There are countless reasons to love Bach's music," will bring out Bach's charms with the sparkling tone of the Steinway.
