A collection of orchestral works by Swedish contemporary composer Marlin Bon! A collection of orchestral works by Swedish composer Marlin Bon (b. 1974), a recipient of the Donaueschingen Music Festival Award. Unbound by conventional notions of the sounds of classical instruments, she composes in a way that constantly pushes the boundaries of what is possible. *splinters of a bullient rebellion*, which explores politics and the relationship between the collective and the individual through the orchestra, won the Orchestra Prize at the Donaueschingen Music Festival (2018) and Sweden’s Kristian Johnson Prize (2020). *irimi*, a work for large ensemble, is a unique piece that focuses on the performers’ various physical movements and the materials of their instruments. Urban life and sounds are also important sources of inspiration for her, and in *ripost*, written to celebrate Helmut Lachenmann’s birthday, she has two soloists (double bass and percussion) explore a noisy metropolitan tunnel as expressed by the orchestra, while in *avgar,pagar* she attempts to capture the sounds of her hometown, Gothenburg.
