A must have for Balearic/New Wave fans! The treasured tape recordings from 86-97 will be unearthed and released in 2019! Born in the UK, he studied at art school as a student, and after graduation in the mid-60s, he started playing in bands as a professional guitarist, including THE PYRAMID with IAIN MATTHEWS. After working as an art director and designer, he turned to photography and worked as a fashion photographer for top magazines such as VOGUE and MARIE CLAIRE. He also photographed the final performance of JIMI HENDRIX at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970, as well as BEACH BOYS, DOORS, MILES DAVIS, etc. In conjunction with the long-awaited reissue of his only solo album "On the Beach" from 1983, known as an AOR/light mellow masterpiece, this album was recorded in Paris where he spent time as a famous fashion photographer from 1986 to 1997. This rare case is filled with very consistent sound material for a treasured tape that was never intended for release. The somewhat timid yet clean and crisp tone of the electric blues boogie, the 80s mood of the drum machine, the ambient pads, and the keyboard textures.The profound shades of light and shadow that emerge with naïve melodies in the sound quality unique to the demo are no less compelling than on "Down on the Road". The album contains 10 Balearic Soul instrumentals of incomparable beauty (bonus tracks are included on the CD), capturing HIETT's private moments in the glamorous world.
