Ken Downie's project The Black Dog has been a pioneer of UK TECHNO/IDM for many years. The Black Dog is an ambitious project that combines a highly uncertain and fluid process of music into a single album, which has been remastered and reissued! Fragments" is a completely new project by Ken Downie and his band, who have developed their own creative style over the years. Originally, the project began as a simple effort to release one song each month to Patreon supporters. At first, there was no clear concept, and the process was fluid, as even they did not know what kind of music would be created next. In the process, the work gave up the traditional "meticulous production style in accordance with the internal brief" and steered towards an attitude of embracing change itself. Eventually, each track was organized and remastered while adapting to the new environment of remote production under the constraints imposed by the pandemic. As a result, the project's initial trajectory was successfully compiled into a single album.While an extension of the past "Allegory" EPs, this time around the minimalist, stripped-back texture stands out, stripped of superfluous ornamentation. Fragments" is a record of self-discovery, transformation, and a band that has not stopped moving despite being shaken by external forces. It is an important work that reflects the band's attitude of continuing to take on challenges without fear of change, where experimentation and sincerity coexist.
