This is amazing! Four colorful R. Strauss works by Fritschai! The Deutschland Radio Kultur series is popular for its high-quality reissues from the original masters (1st master release) by Rutger Beckenhof, the owner and tone-meister of the German audite label. This disc is a collection of R. Strauss works from the recordings of the RIAS Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ferenc Flitschai, who has been reissuing the works most intensively. Mr. Beckenhoff's careful recording of the music is heard in astonishing sound quality. The prodigy Filitschai, who studied with Bartók and Kodály at the Liszt School of Music and made his conducting debut at the age of 15, showed great maturity until his death at the young age of 48. His repertoire includes orchestral works by Beethoven, Mozart, and Bartók, and he excelled in many concertos and other orchestral works, with his flexible and large-scale playing being very attractive. However, there are very few performances of orchestral works by R. Strauss, whose music reached the extreme point of late Romanticism, and the recordings collected here are extremely valuable.Flitschai, who also excelled at orchestral music with solo instruments, presents R.
