In the flute and harp concerto, he is joined by Emmanuelle Seysson, another young French harpist who is currently principal harpist at the Metropolitan Opera. Bernold originally began his career as a flutist at the Opera National de Lyon. Mozart's Flute Concerto is reminiscent of an operatic aria in parts, and Bernold's virtuosity and musicality are on full display. Seison's virtuosity on harp adds to the virtuosity of this masterpiece. The cadenzas are also by Bernold himself, and are also noteworthy.In 1994, he founded "Les Virtuoses de l' Opera de Lyon" and started his career as a conductor.
