It was written after Campra served as music director of Notre Dame Cathedral. This disc features a program of works by musicians associated with Notre Dame in the first half and Campra's Requiem in the second half.The composers in the first half of the program, all of whom served as music directors of Notre Dame Cathedral, were among the best in France at the time, and were musicians who established the tradition on which Campla would build his masterpieces. Ensemble Correspondance, a vocal ensemble founded in 2009 by conductor Dosé, focuses its repertoire on music of the 17th century (the reign of Louis XIV.) In 2016, the ensemble made a big splash with its "Conseil Royale de l'Oeil." (King International)
