Ivan Lins, one of Brazil’s leading singer-songwriters who has influenced not only fans of Brazilian music but also jazz artists around the world and Japanese pop artists such as Ringo Sheena, is releasing a new album in ’26! This album, *SAMBADOURO*, is a project that highlights for the first time the deep connection to the samba genre that has been a constant throughout Ivan Lins’ artistic career. Internationally recognized as one of the most important composers in Brazilian popular music, Ivan has compiled this album to feature not only a selection of memorable sambas from his repertoire but also new compositions, reaffirming his connection to his Rio de Janeiro roots and to samba—one of the most significant expressions of Brazilian culture. Conceived and produced by Marcos Fernando, the album features arrangements by two masters of the seti cordas (seven-string guitar)—Paulo and Carlinhos—as well as Rafael dos Anjos, who has been making a remarkable name for himself in recent years. It also features Zeca Pagozinho, Shandi de Pilares, Martinaria, Diogo Nogueira, Pericles, Fefugen, and Amilton de Holanda—all masters of the samba and pagode scenes—also contribute. Exploring the various facets of samba and celebrating its aesthetic diversity and power as an artistic language, this album goes beyond a simple homage to samba; it reaffirms the importance of samba in the work of Ivan Lins and pays tribute to the samba musicians who have shaped the history of samba music.
