The Strokes, headliners of SUMMERSONIC 2026, have released their first new album in six years, *Reality Awaits*. This seventh studio album, their first in about six years since their previous Grammy-winning album *The New Abnormal* (which won "Best Rock Album"), was produced by Rick Rubin, who also worked on the previous album, and recorded in Costa Rica. Although the full details of the album have not yet been revealed, the lead single “Going Shopping” is a lively rock song featuring The Strokes’ signature glittering guitar riffs, tight rhythms, and Julian Casablancas’ emotional vocals, further heightening anticipation for the album. Additionally, the album cover art features the work "Untitled (Cowboy) 1989" by Richard Prince, a contemporary artist based in New York. In addition to performing at the Coachella Festival in California, the band has also been confirmed to appear at major festivals such as Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and SUMMERSONIC 2026. The Strokes are a five-piece band from New York who sparked a major "rock 'n' roll revival" movement in the 2000s and had a profound influence on the rock scene that followed. Even now, 25 years after the release of their legendary debut album *Is This It*, they remain active at the forefront of the scene.
