Description:
Music of Versailles by Gabor Boldocki, "the second coming of Maurice André". Hungarian Gabor Boldocki is a trumpet player of exceptional modern technique, and his recordings for Sony Classical have received numerous awards, including the ECHO Klassik Award for "Instrumentalist of the Year. This new album leads us to rediscover the music that was performed at the Royal Palace of Versailles, the court of the Sun King Louis XIV. Boldtzki is the first to feature French Baroque composers Leclerc (1697-1764), Michel Bravais (1700-1768), Jacques-Christophe Nord (1690-1762), and Bonaventura Gilles (c1678-?), who were all active in the French Baroque music scene. 's Concerto for Violin, Flute, and Oboe, what a world premiere recording of a modern trumpet or flugelhorn with modern valves or pistons. While in the Baroque era trumpets were used to evoke images of heaven, emperors, and rulers, modern trumpets and flugelhorns are brilliant in tone, wide in dynamic range, and versatile in timbre, and in the hands of a virtuoso like Boldocki, can bring new life to a concerto conceived for a different instrument. In the hands of a virtuoso like Boldocki, a concerto conceived for a different instrument can be given a new lease of life.In addition to the three concertos, the program includes music from Couperin's "Concerte Royale" and Rameau's "Boread," arranged for trumpet and orchestra. Backed by Capella Gavetta, led by Andres Gavetta, brother of popular female cellist Sol Gavetta. The ensemble uses ancient instruments, and the fusion of Boldocki's modern trumpet and the ancient instrument ensemble provides a fascinating virtuosity that is like rolling a wet ball of pearls. Gabor Boldocki was born in Szeged, Hungary in 1976. He has been called "the heir to Maurice André," and his debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2004 was acclaimed for his "soft articulation, extreme talent, confident embouchure, and brilliant virtuosity...a soloist of the highest quality who can handle any kind of music. First prize at the International Competition in Zalaegerszeg (Hungary) at the age of 14. At the age of 21, she won the highest prize at the Munich International Competition and the Grand Prix at the 3rd Maurice André Competition, which brought her to the forefront of the international music scene. He was awarded the Davidoff Prize by the Riemsma Foundation in August 1999, the Young Artist of the Year Award in 2002, the Echo Classics Award for Best New Artist in October 2003, and was named Best Wind Instrumentalist by the German Phono Academy in 2008. The tradition of baroque trumpet technique is carried on here with lightness, liveliness, and a modern sense of style. Sony Music
