Jenny Val, the Scandinavian avant-pop treasure who shines atomically, releases her latest long-awaited album on <4AD>! Iris Silver Mist", named after the perfume of Serge Lutens, the "French intellect and philosopher", is the second long-awaited album by Jenny Val since she moved to <4AD>. As the title suggests, her highly transparent voice, which combines etherealness and vitality, evokes a misty, sparkling perfume, and its elegant scent drifts between flowers and smoke, inviting the listener into a superb avant-pop experience. The preceding single, "To Be a Rose," is a must-hear track that begins as a telling song over a percussive drum machine beat, then sublimates as it intertwines with smoky synths and a chorus.
