A. Davis Vaughan Williams, Hickox's successor, is finally complete! Sir Andrew Davis, who took over the baton as "the evangelist of British music" from the late Richard Hickox, has created new masterpieces of British music, including Elgar, Dilius, Holst, and Bax. Taking over the Symphony Cycle, which Richard Hickox started in the latter stages of his career and left unfinished after his ambition, Andreu Davis released Symphony No. 9 in early 2017. And with the release of this Antarctic Symphony (Symphony No. 7), the complete nine symphonies by Vaughan Williams, continuing from Hickox, are now complete! From the music composed for the film "Scott of Antarctica" (which won the Music Prize at the Prague Film Festival), the Antarctic Symphony was transformed into a "symphony" rather than a concert suite, and is a magnificent symphony accompanied by soprano solo voice and female chorus, and using a variety of percussion instruments and wind machines.From the works for voice and piano, "Four Last Songs" orchestrated by Anthony Payne (b.1936), known for his complementary version of Elgar's "Symphony No.3", and "Piano Concerto" arranged by the composer himself and Joseph Cooper for "two pianos" (soloists are the splendid duo of Lortie & Mercier!), "Piano Concerto" (soloists are the splendid duo of Lortie & Mercier!), and "Piano Concerto" (soloists are the splendid duo of Lortie & Mercier!
