Hyperion's extremely popular "Romantic Piano Concerto Series (RPCS)" is a series of discoveries and revivals of unknown piano concertos of the Romantic era. The Piano Concerto No. 1, composed in 1918, is a work with a late Romantic flavor. Piano Concerto No. 2, composed during World War II, consists of a stately first movement and a light second movement. The soloist is Jonathan Plowright, a specialist who has introduced many Polish musicians to the world, including Paderewski, Stojowski, Jerzynski, and Zajicki.Conducted by Ukasz Borowicz, the next generation of Polish conductors, who has also continued to introduce unknown Polish music.
