New Series to Follow Romantic Piano Concerto! Launch of "Classical Piano Concertos"! The "Classical Piano Concerto (CPC)" series has begun, which will discover and revive the unknown piano concertos of the classical era! As the name suggests, this is a sister series of Hyperion's very popular "Romantic Piano Concerto (RPC)" series, and the first release is a piano concerto by Dusik (Dussec), played by Howard Shelley, a well-known pianist in the RPC series.Although loved for his talent by Ekaterina II of Russia and Marie Antoinette of France, he fled to England due to intrigue and revolution, then eloped with Jean-Baptiste Krumwolz's wife, remarried Sofia Giustina Colli, and went bankrupt of the sheet music publishing company he co-founded with his father-in-law, The Bohemian composer Jan Ladislav Dusik (1760-1812) lived a life of drama, including his elopement with the wife of Jean-Baptiste Krumwolz, his second marriage to Sofia Giustina Colli, the bankruptcy of the publishing house he co-founded with his father-in-law, his flight to Germany, and the decline of his later years. He is well known for his recordings in the "Sonatina Album" and his achievements in the history of music, such as his friendship with the English piano maker John Broadwood, his involvement in the development of the "English Action," and his establishment of the style of placing the piano on its side at concerts. Three piano concertos by Dusiek that show the transition from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. Although classically based, Dusiek's works were a precursor to later Romantic piano works by Chopin and Mendelssohn, and are recommended not only for fans of classical piano works, but also for fans of Romanticism and the RPC.
