A collection of songs by Brazilian composer Nepomuceno and his contemporaries! This collection features songs by Auberto Nepomuceno (1864-1920), a Brazilian composer, conductor, and music educator who has been reevaluated in recent years, as well as works by composers of his generation. Auberto Nepomuceno was born in Fortaleza, northeastern Brazil. He showed early musical talent and studied in Europe in his 20s. He became friends with Grieg because his wife, whom he met and married in Berlin, was a pupil of Grieg's, and was greatly influenced by his folklorist music. He also had contact with Mahler. In Brazil, he devoted himself to the development of music rooted in his own culture. However, he died at the age of 56 due to illness. Although he was a great composer who is indispensable to the history of Brazilian music, there have been only a few recordings of his music. This may be the first time that a CD of songs in Portuguese has been released together, at least in the international sales channel. The influence of Villa-Lobos and others who came after him can certainly be heard in the gentle style of this work.It would be fun to compare the works with those of Ernest Chausson (1855-1899), a generation older, and R. Strauss (1864-1949), who was born in the same year and was a close friend of Nepomuceno's. Kindra Sharich is a mid-career mezzo-soprano from the United States. She has performed extensively as a singer of songs and frequently appears in baroque operas. Ricardo Ballestero is a pianist born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is active as a chorepétitore (pianist who teaches accompanying singing) for opera houses and as an accompaniment pianist for songs. Tobu Shoji Co.
