Description:

A tragic love story of the water nymph Rusalka, sung by Asmik Grigorian, to be performed at the Teatro Real in November 2020. It tells the sad story of Rusalka, a water nymph who falls in love with a human prince. The music of "Rusalka" shows the influence of Wagner's operas, such as the chorus of the forest nymphs and the magnificent brass that echoes in the scene where the prince appears, and at the same time, we can enjoy the beautiful melodies that are typical of Dvořák. In particular, "Song to the Moon," in which Rusalka, the water nymph who has fallen in love with the prince, sings of her desire to become human in Act I, is one of the most famous arias and has been performed by sopranos all over the world on its own. This film was filmed when it was performed at Teatro Real in Spain in November 2020. Surprisingly, this is the first time it has been performed at the Teatro Real since its re-opening in 1966. This production is a new production by the German genius Christoph Roy. Rusalka is sung by Asmik Grigorian, a Lithuanian soprano with a commanding voice and presence. She perfectly portrays a water nymph who becomes human out of love for the prince, but is driven to despair by his betrayal. Christophe Roy portrays this story as the trajectory of one young woman's life. And Ivar Bolton, Teatro Real's musical director, delivers a quality performance with romantic lyricism and overwhelming drama. King International
