Michael Gordon's "Timber," premiered in 2009, is a 50-minute percussion piece using six Wooden Simantras. Inspired by the work of shamanist Carlos Castaneda, this "desert-inspired" piece was released on CD in 2011, performed by Hague Percussion, This time, a version with a higher level of electronic processing was added to the U.S. premiere of Mantra Percussion's performance.
