On A Trip To The Moon, their fourth album following 2022's A New Kind of Love, GFO dives even deeper into the world of film music, exotica, and psychedelic surf rock. The listening experience is a collage of so many elements layered on top of each other that you can't find them in just one listen. The guitars are fuzzy and full of spring reverb, the horns are arranged in a studio big band style. The music is full of epic songs with a garage rock attitude. Influences range from Eddie Palmieri and Esquivel to The Lively Ones, Dusty Springfield, and War. The concept of the album is about a woman wondering about the whereabouts of her astronaut partner and whether she will make it out of space alive.
