Description:

Jamie Cullum is also a drummer! Emma Ravitz, a young saxophonist with extraordinary talent, is just 21 years old, but plays with outstanding technique and blessed musical sense, and is full of confidence. Emma Ravitz is a 21-year-old saxophonist and composer currently based in London, England. She was born with "chromesthesia, a type of synesthesia in which she sees colors when she hears sounds," and because of this she began composing music on the piano and violin at the age of 7. He has won numerous awards, including the Newcomer of the Year at the 2022 Parliamentary Jazz Awards, and is a hot topic of conversation on the Young British Jazz scene. He has been creating a buzz in the Young British Jazz scene. Her new album, "Chroma," is Ravitz's ACT debut, a new step forward for her, and one that represents her signature style. The album is an easy listening album that reflects her own colors in her storytelling style, while incorporating melodies, harmonies, and tones of the likes of Joe Henderson and Wayne Shorter, whom she admires and respects. The album title "Chroma" means "color/paint" in Greek, and Ravitch is a "synesthesiologist" who perceives sounds as colors at the same time, which is the theme of the album. Seven of the eight songs on the album are named after colors. The band features a group of talented UK musicians from various fields, including drummer/percussionist Asaf Serkis, pianist Ivo Naeem, bassist Conor Chaplin, and guitarist Ant Lowe. Each member brings a strong musical identity to the band, resulting in an explosion of individuality and a sense of cohesion as a band.
