Oshima Lisa Zehetmair(Vn)Stroissnig(P) Prokofiev (1891-1953)

Description:

Risa Oshima's Prokofiev Vol. 2! Domestic edition with newly written commentary is also available! Long-time violinist of the Paris Opera Orchestra, Risa Oshima! The long-awaited second Prokofiev album with Thomas Zoetmaier! The second long-awaited Prokofiev album is with Thomas Zoetmaier! A Japanese edition of the album will be released with an additional Japanese commentary written by Risa Oshima on the recording process. After working with the Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany, violinist Risa Oshima is currently based at the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris (Orchestre National de l'Opera de Paris) and has been active as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe.Fast forward a few years after his debut solo album "Prokofiev's Violin Works" (QTZ2119), released in 2017 to rave reviews in Record Art, Gramophone UK, and other publications, and with support from the foundation named after Prokofiev's son and painter, Oleg Prokofiev The recording of Prokofiev's remaining violin works has also been realized! In the previous recording, Prokofiev's multifaceted nature was beautifully expressed through "Violin Sonata No. 1", arrangements from ballets "Cinderella" and "Romeo and Juliet", and "Five Melodies", and in this recording, "Violin Sonata No. 2" arranged for violin from the flute sonata, and "Violin Sonata No. 3" arranged for violin from the flute sonata, are performed. The "Sonata for Two Violins" with Thomas Zoetmaier, Risa Oshima's teacher, and the "Sonata for Solo Violin, Op.115", which was composed "for unison of multiple violins", are available in two versions: a solo version by Risa Oshima and a two violin version arranged by Zoetmaier. The program is extremely "challenging" and includes two versions: a solo version by Risa Oshima and a version for two violins arranged by Zoetmaier. Risa Oshima studied music at Toho Girls' High School and completed the Soloist Diploma Course at Toho Gakuen School of Music. She studied under Felix Andrievsky and Thomas Zoetmaier at the Graduate School of the Royal College of Music in England. While at the same graduate school, she was awarded the Yehudi Menuhin Prize, the first woman to receive the prize, and graduated at the top of her class with the highest score ever. After serving as guest concertmaster of the Halle Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, she joined the Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic Orchestra in 2002, and in 2003 joined the Orchestre National de l'Opera de Paris, mainly at the Paris Opera, but also as guest principal with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed extensively, including a tour of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and subscription performances at the Royal Festival Hall. *The newly released domestic edition will include a Japanese commentary newly written by Risa Oshima about interesting episodes in the recording process, such as the circumstances leading to the recording of the "Sonata for 2 Violins Unaccompanied" arranged by Zoetmaier.
