Winner of the Cleveland International Piano Competition! Alexander Simp! Alexander Simp was born in 1981 in Göttingen, Germany. He is a winner of the 2008 German Music Competition, the 2009 Vienna International Beethoven Competition, and the 2011 Cleveland International Piano Competition (the first German ever to win these competitions). In 1990, he formed a group of young musicians and together with the Bavarian Chamber Orchestra, which has been active in a wide variety of activities from ancient music to jazz, he spins Mozart's piano concertos with sincerity and the full tone of a Brüttner piano.
