Description:
A recording of the monumental piano work "Avalanche" by Denis Dufour (1953-), the direct successor of Pierre Chéphère, is now available! The work consists of 19 movements, each of varying length and mood, and takes the listener on a journey across the endless variations of snow forms and the rich vocabulary of Inuit snow. Dufour says that as an analog synthesizer player, especially thanks to his work with the TM+ ensemble in the 1980s, he developed the ability to see through hearing. It also led him to distance himself from the dependence on preconceived ideas in the phenomenon of sound. The performance is by pianist François-Michel Rignol, who specializes in modern and contemporary French music, including Séverac and Dupré. Tokyo M-Plus
