Description:

Also featuring a splendid lineup of collaborators including Babolák, Drůka, Honzák, and Wierzgón! ANIMAL MUSIC, which focuses on recording excellent Czech artists regardless of genre, is proud to present the new album "Prometheus" by composer-pianist Nikol Bokova, whose works captivate listeners with his unique sensibility, The new album by Nikol Bokova, one of the label's most popular composers and pianists, is a highly anticipated release featuring a splendid lineup of collaborators. Bokova is a leading figure in the Czech jazz scene and a hot topic of conversation in Europe. His debut release, Inner Places (ANI-079), features works inspired by classical, minimal, and popular music. The album received attention when it won the Angell Award, the Czech Republic's highest music award, in the category of Best Jazz Album. The following album, UNRAVEL (ANI-087), was an ambitious work that challenged Ravel and Rachmaninoff in addition to original compositions. The highly anticipated third installment of the series will feature the brilliant horn player Radek Baborak, David Doruzka, a new generation guitarist from Prague whose talent has been highly praised by Pat Metheny, Jaromir Honzak, a leading bass player and a key figure in the Czech Republic's uniquely developing contemporary jazz scene, and Czech drummer Michał Wiejgonyu, who is currently active in Austria. Jaromir Honzak, a key figure in the contemporary jazz scene, and Michal Wierzgon, a Czech drummer currently working in Austria. Borkover, who has received much inspiration from artists active in the two worlds of jazz and classical music, has composed this remarkable piece with his own unique sensibility. Although the title alludes to Greek mythology, the individual songs were composed while recalling moments shared with Bochover's loved ones who passed away just prior to the production of this album. The music depicts various scenes and images, as well as evokes emotions and offers a glimpse into those memories. The beautiful melodies created by Bochover give listeners a sense of peace. The session took place over two days, but no rehearsals were conducted beforehand, valuing the "intuition" of this gorgeous artist with a rich sensibility. The sound of each instrument interwoven with Bochover's piano created a pure sound, and the performance took one's breath away. King International
