Susan Narucki is a professor of music at the University of California, San Diego, and was featured on George Crumb's Grammy Award-winning album "Star Child" in 2000. A recipient of many other awards, including two Grammy nominations, she is a renowned American soprano known as a specialist in contemporary music, with over 100 world premieres in opera, concert, and recording settings. Her previous album, "The Edge of Silence" (AV2408), in which she sang works by Kurtag, was also nominated for a 2019 Grammy Award (Best Classical Solo Vocal Album) and was named "Recordings of the Year 2019" by The New York Times The album has received extremely high acclaim, including being named "Recordings of the Year 2019" by the New York Times. Continuing her amazing challenge and discovery of contemporary music, Susan Narucki sings a new collection of works by female composers of the first half of the 20th century.From Nadia Boulanger's collaboration with Raoul Pugno, a teacher at the Paris Conservatory, to Belgian Irene Frierson, Dutch Henriette Bosmans, American composer and educator Marion Bauer, who studied in Paris and met Boulanger and Pugno, and mysterious French composer Elisabeth Klase, to name a few.
