Despite the success of her first three albums, Joni Mitchell took a break from performing in January 1970 and left for an extended vacation in Europe. During her stay in Crete, she wrote many of the songs that would appear on her fourth album, Blue. A critical and commercial success at the time of its release, Blue is today generally regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time, and in January 2000, The New York Times named it one of the "25 albums that represent turning points and pinnacles in 20th century popular music.After the great success of Blue, the band began touring again, presenting songs from Blue and earlier albums, as well as new songs that will appear on their next album, For the Roses. This album was released in October 1972. Eight months earlier ... Joni Mitchell performed a stunning show at Carnegie Hall in New York City, featuring songs from all her previous albums and "For the Roses," which is the source of this sound.Previously unreleased, this concert was recorded for live FM broadcast and is a live album from an important period in their career!
