Mark Ilang (g/acoustic-g), Chris Malmgren (key), Kyle Lund (b), and Richard Davenport (dr) formed this North American technical progressive rock/fusion band in 2012. The keyboard work shifts from modern classical piano to chilling organ, mellotron, and Arp synths that are straight out of a progressive sound, forming a rough world view, while aggressive riffs and effect guitars with a Crimson flavor and their roots in jazz rock are used to create the sound. The album features a large scale instrumental sound that is typical of the U.S. music, with aggressive Crimson-flavored riffs and effect guitars, and a rhythm section that moves with an awareness of their jazz-rock roots. The album is not just a technical showcase, but also a shining example of the emotional expression that can be found in recent post-rock music.
