The Goldberg Baroque Ensemble, led by Andrzej Szadeko, presents the world premiere recording of six religious cantatas by this composer, who lived during the same era as Bach but had long been forgotten. His original instrumental techniques, bold harmonies, and rich textual expression vividly capture the spirit of an era transitioning from the late Baroque to the Sentimental and Rococo styles. Another major highlight of this recording is the recreation of the original performance environment, achieved by utilizing the historic acoustic space and restored organ at the Holy Trinity Church in Gdańsk, where these works are associated.
