Maximiuk was born in 1936 in Grodna, Belarus, and studied violin, piano, conducting, and composition at the Warsaw Conservatory. His main activity was as a conductor, and while working at the Warsaw Grand Theatre, he founded the Polish Chamber Orchestra, which continues to perform as of 2016. This disc contains recordings of the Polish Chamber Orchestra, which he founded, mainly as a string ensemble. Universal Music/IMS
