New generation of ancient music trio connects East and West! At the beginning of the 18th century, the publication of the French translation of "One Thousand and One Nights" by Galland caused a frenzy of Orientalism in Europe. It had a tremendous impact not only on literature, but also on music and art. This work, likened to the story of the legendary storyteller Scheherazade, depicts a musical journey at the intersection of Eastern and Western cultures. The core of the work consists of precious Ottoman melodies recorded in Western notation by Ali Ufki (Wojciech Bobowski), a Polish-born Ottoman court musician and interpreter, and chamber music works by the masters of the "Mannheim School" of his time. In a place associated with the Elector Carl Theodor, who was fascinated by oriental taste, the ancient music ensemble "Les Salonnières" will project the salon culture of the time and vividly revive the dialogue and resonance between different cultures. Les Salonnieres is an old music ensemble formed by three female players who met at the Institute of Old Music at the Berlin University of the Arts.Shedding light on the salon culture of the 18th and 19th centuries and the women who were active at the time, the program recreates the atmosphere of intellectual exchange and intimate concerts, and is internationally active with original programs based on historical playing techniques (HIPP), but also fusing them with literature and other genres.
