A collection of unfinished guitar works by one of Italy's leading composers Jewish-Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco spent his last years in the United States due to racial persecution in Italy. Although he was not himself a guitarist, he left several masterpieces for guitar, including the two-volume collection of guitar pieces, "Apunti," originally written for pedagogical purposes at the urging of musicologist and guitarist Ruggiero Chiesa. Tedesco discussed the details of the work with Chiesa on numerous occasions, incorporated his suggestions into the first volume, and jointly revised the complete work. The second volume, composed shortly before Tedesco's death, failed to make these revisions, leaving it in an unsatisfactory instrumental form, and the third and fourth volumes unfortunately never saw the light of day. In this album, you will enjoy the beautiful itinerary of the work, performed by the Italian guitarist Edoardo Pieri, who has worked extensively and presided over guitar festivals in Viareggio, in the province of Lucca, Tuscany.
