Piano Duo + Percussion version! Bartók's "The Wonderful Chinese Official"! Duo Diaghilev, an ensemble of "Piano Duo + Percussion", founded the Russian Ballet Company (Ballets Russes) and had an enormous influence on the art world in the late 19th and early 20th century. The compositions and arrangements are extremely rare and unique. The "Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion" is a chamber piece for two pianists and two percussionists, but here it is performed by "two pianists and one percussionist. Percussionist Ivan Gambini does not make multiple recordings or reduce the number of parts played, but plays all the two parts written by Bartók by himself. Trio Diaghilev's arrangement of "The Wonderful Chinese Official" for two pianos and percussion, with the piano part based on the composer's own arrangement and the percussion part based on the original orchestral score, was controversial at the time of composition and was even banned.
