In 2009 and 2012, he performed at "Fuji Rock (Green Stage)", and after releasing the album "From Angry Africa : RISE" with Brian Eno as co-producer, he also performed at "Asagiri JAM".In 2017, Fela Kuti's youngest son, Sheun Kuti, who made headlines with guest appearances by Lauryn Hill, Tony Allen, and even Talib Kweli at his father Fela Kuti's tribute show in Paris, is back with a new album that will rewrite Afrobeat history! Robert Glasper, now the number one pianist/keyboardist, continues to influence various music scenes including jazz as well as hip-hop, and in the fall of 2017, he led the Blue Note All Stars and released "Hour Point of View". produced his last album, "Long Way to the Beginning - Long Way to the Beginning"! The album features a powerful groove that further evolves the Afro-beats of the 2000s while refining the conscious and political lyricism of his father, Fela. The title track, "Black Times," features Carlos Santana, the king of Latin rock, and proudly declares, "The message is free! and declares it loud and clear: "The message is free! The album was co-written with "Showboy" Fagbemi, a veteran saxophonist from Egypt 80.The eight tracks include "Kuku Kee Me," a song about a Nigerian tradition of Maxim, "African Dreams," a song that challenges the status quo of only commercial success, "Bad Man Lighter," a heavy/smoky and crisp horn track, and "Last Revolutionary," a name calling track about past, present, and future leaders. The album includes 8 tracks in total, including "Last Revolutionary" which calls out the names of past, present and future leaders!
