Rouse, a native of the United States, was the New York Philharmonic's "Marie-Josée Kravis Memorial Composer in Residence" from 2012 to 2015 (his predecessor was Magnus Lindberg), and he collaborated with the orchestra on "Prospero's Room," "Symphony No. 4," "odna zhizn" are collaborations with the orchestra."
