Founded by Australian conductor Geoffrey Simon, Cala Signum is a new label co-produced with Signum Classics that will reissue the classic recordings of Cala Records, which has enjoyed strong popularity for its original programs and high quality sound. Cala Signum reissues Sibelius' Symphonies No. 1 and No. 2 from the Stokowski series, which has been released in cooperation with the Leopold Stokowski Society in the UK. This is one of the masterpieces by Stokowski, who was a specialist in introducing contemporary European and Scandinavian music of the time to the United States, especially Sibelius, and was also responsible for the American premieres of Symphonies Nos. 5 through 7.
