Description:
A remarkable disc of secret works that are rare even to be recorded, in which the violin obbligato also plays an active role, performed by the master of the ancient music world, Rezborg. This is a collection of religious works by Rupert Ignaz Meyer (1646-1712). He was active in Munich from 1683 until his death and was considered one of the reformers of Protestant music in Germany. His music skillfully combines the Italian concerto style. The music here is composed for small strings and bass with solo voices, and is sung by male voices only, as was customary in the churches of the time. In some pieces, boy sopranos also appear. The violin obbligato sometimes takes technical solos, and Letzball's charm is on full display. King International
