Sonatas by the 18th-century cello virtuoso and Mozart collaborator Carlo Graziani was born in Asti, Italy, and was a virtuoso cello musician. He made frequent tours and performed in London with the seven-year-old Mozart in 1764, and also wrote sonatas and concertos for cello. After that, he served under Friedrich Wilhelm II while receiving an exorbitant pension. The sonata shows Graziani's high performance ability, with its rapid passages and frequent use of the upper registers. The rich melodies are also appealing. The Sonata Op. 3, dedicated to Friedrich Wilhelm II, also shows what an excellent player Wilhelm II was. King International
