"Astro-Darien," the audio essay version of "ESCAPOLOGY"—originally released as an instrumental version by Kode9—is out on an ultra-limited-edition 10-inch vinyl!! Led by Burial—a figure with a truly one-of-a-kind presence—Hyperdub has consistently pushed the boundaries of avant-garde electronic and bass music. Kode9, the label’s founder, is a key figure who continues to pursue a wide range of activities as an artist, DJ, and writer. *ESCAPOLOGY* (2022)—his second solo album in seven years since *Nothing*—served as the instrumental counterpart to *Astro-Darien*, which is being released now. *Astro-Darien*, an art project presented alongside essays and videos, has been released in several formats, including a two-week audio- visual installation on the main floor of “Corsica Studios,” a venue in South London, and was created with a performance in mind at an event organized by the French Music Research Group (commonly known as INAGRM)—a Paris-based contemporary music institution founded by Pierre Schaeffer, one of the pioneers of musique concrète—with a live performance taking place in 2021. *Astro-Darien* was released on a dark green 10-inch vinyl record, featuring artwork by Lawrence Lek and Optigram—longtime collaborators of Kode9—and is a limited edition of 500 copies worldwide.
