The Doobie Brothers, who performed in Japan last April on their 50th anniversary reunion tour, are a popular American rock band that has been at the forefront of the music scene since their debut in 1971, despite numerous breakups and suspensions. Minute By Minute", released in 1978, is a live archive of the Doobie Brothers' live performance of "What A Fool Believes", co-written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins. The band reached its peak when "What A Fool Believes," co-written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins, became their second No. 1 album on the U.S. Hot 100 and spent five consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the album chart. However, the band disbanded in 1982 due to the members' active solo careers, and in 1987 they reunited for a charity concert, resuming full-fledged activities and releasing a new album. 1993 saw the band on a limited tour of North America and Japan, with the final show in Japan on October 9 of the same year being recorded and broadcast for TV and radio programs.
