Description:
Blur, a London art school band, debuted in 1991 with the album "Leisure" on Hood Records. Their follow-up, Modern Life Is Rubbish, was a cynical, conceptual work with a British sense of humor inherited from the Kinks and XTC. The band went on hiatus in 2003, with vocalist Damon Albarn continuing to perform internationally as Gorillaz's 2D, but in 2008, the band relaunched. In 2023, the band will appear at Summer Sonic with their first new album in eight years, "The Ballad Of Darren".The album containing the live performance at Wembley Stadium in 2023 was released in July of the same year, and the documentary "blur: To The End" documenting their resurrection was released in Japan. Now, the rare live archive of Blur is finally available! With the release of "The Great Escape" in 1995, the final album in the "Life Trilogy," Blur stepped away from the Britpop clamor. Their self-titled album "Blur" was one of the best-selling albums in the U.S. market, with songs such as "Beetlebum," which showed the influence of grunge, and "Song 2," with its impressive guitar riffs and awareness of the American music scene. As part of the promotion, a secret live performance was held in Astoria, London on February 10, 1997, the day the album was released, which was recorded and broadcast for a BBC radio program. This is a live album using the sound recordings used for the broadcast, and includes the encores and other complete recordings. As in the studio version, Graham Coxsone's guitar technique, which utilizes feedback and other techniques, is on full display, and the final song "This Is A Row" is especially impressive. This album, which features a rare night of the ever-evolving Blur, is a work that allows you to experience the beginning of a new chapter in their career! Imported domestic edition with Japanese obi and bilingual liner notes>Damon Albarn (vo) Graham Coxon (g, vo) Alex James (b) Dave Rowntree (ds)
