Steve Vai was discovered by the brilliant Frank Zappa while attending Berklee College of Music, and after working as a scorer, he joined the band as a guitarist. His 1990 solo album "Passion And Warfare" was a worldwide hit, reaching No. 18 on the U.S. Album Albums Chart and earning a gold disc despite being an instrumental album. His technical and unique approach to guitar playing is one-of-a-kind! One of these super guitarists, Steve Vai, has released a rare live archive of his time in Alcatraz! When Ingvay Malmsteen left the band, the new guitarist was Steve Vai, who had left the Frank Zappa Band. His addition to the band evolved the band from their Rainbow-inspired debut album to a more broadly musical hard rock sound.Steve Vai then visited Japan in October 1984 as a member of Alcatraz before the release of the completed new album "Disturbing The Peace". The concert at Nakano Sun-plaza on October 11, the last day of the tour, was recorded for a video, which was broadcast on PBS (in the US) for promotional purposes. This live album is based on this material and includes the complete concert, including the encores. Steve Vai's new approach to the songs from his tenure with Yngwie Malmsteen, along with songs from the new album to be released the following year, adds a new color to the Alcatraz sound, making this a valuable live archive release!
