Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon R" consists of two parts: the original anime episodes 47-59 "Makaiju Hen" and episodes 60-89 "Black Moon Hen" based on the original story, which centers on the mysterious girl Chibi-Usa. (*VOL. 1 contains episodes 47-68). In contrast to the first season, which traces the distant past of the main character, Usagi Tsukino, this series is set in the future (Crystal Tokyo) of the 30th century, where a tense battle unfolds. At the same time, the story is colored by fascinating new characters such as Sailor Pluto, the sixth warrior who is the guardian of the "Door of Time and Space," and Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion, the future forms of Usagi and Mamoru. From episode 60, the series director has passed the baton from Junichi Sato to Kunihiko Ikuhara, and new visuals, including new make-up scenes and special moves, have been drawn.
