A collection of contemporary Chinese guitar works titled "Romance of China." Although they are contemporary works, they are all written in beautiful tonal compositions. Xia Weinan was born in China. He became interested in music at an early age and was taught by his father, and by his teenage years he was hooked on rock music, playing guitar in a Chinese rock band, as well as working as a songwriter, recording engineer, and music producer, giving him extensive experience in the music industry. He also studied classical technique at the Central Conservatory of Music. The Flow," which opens with a Chinese introduction using a five-note scale, represents a boat on a lake. The use of tremolo, reminiscent of Barrios' "Dreaming in the Forest," is impressive. Fan Tao is a popular guitar recitalist who has given guitar recitals throughout China; in 2020, he was ranked in the top 10 of "the National Love-Music" organized by Ximalaya, an Internet media planning and management company, and has appeared on television. His works are also full of nostalgic and melancholy melodies. Lin Fangqi is one of the most prolific guitar composers in China.He has already published more than 100 pieces, and as a guitarist, his 2018 album "Monologue" has received great critical acclaim. The album features lyrical and tender compositions with relatively slow tempos, played with empathy by Liu Shanyi, the first Chinese winner of the Francisco Tarrega International Guitar Competition in 2016.
