Moravian composer Paul (Pavel) Vranitsky.At the age of 20, he moved to Vienna, where he became an important composer in the Viennese music world, associating with Haydn and Mozart. He became a favorite of Maria Theresa, wife of Emperor Franz II, who often asked him to compose festive music for the court and stage productions. He was also friends with Mozart, who was born in the same year, and after Mozart's death, his widow Constanze helped him publish her late husband's works. This album contains two symphonies, an overture from an opera, and a sinfonia. The final movement of the "Symphony in D major" features triangles, cymbals, and Turkish drums, giving the piece a "Turkish music" style that was popular at the time. (Naxos Japan)
