The Hanson (1896-1981) symphony series holds one of the most important positions among the many American music. This time we present No. 3. The work was written between 1936 and 1938, and has a beautiful and majestic atmosphere with Hanson's characteristic "Scandinavian-ness. The sound of the piece is very moving. The song becomes more dramatic when it turns agitato, and the peaceful second movement is so beautiful that it makes you want to take a deep breath. The second piece is the "Merry Mount" Suite, arranged from his own opera. It is a work with tragic content, and the music is extremely eloquent.
