Hans Graf, a native of Austria with an established reputation for German-Austrian music, conducts the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in this Richard Strauss album. Surprisingly, Graf has made few recordings of Strauss's works, making this one of his most notable releases. Graf has been the principal conductor of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra since 2020, and was appointed the orchestra's third music director in 2022 for his work in overcoming the difficulties of the Corona disaster and raising artistic standards.
