Anton Reicha (also Antoine Reicha/Antonine Reicha) was a composer born in the Czech Republic and active in Germany and France. Born 10 months before Beethoven and known for his friendship with him during his time in Bonn, he moved to Paris in 1808 and eventually became professor of composition at the Paris Conservatory. He trained such outstanding students as Franz Liszt, Hector Berlioz, Charles Gounod, and César Franck. Although he left excellent works of chamber music in the classical style, he introduced ideas that were considerably more advanced than those of his contemporaries, and perhaps because he had little desire to publish his own works, he was almost forgotten after his death, except for a few of his works for wind instruments. This two-disc set contains a variety of works. This 2-CD set includes four chamber pieces in various formations, and since he was a flutist in the Elector's Court Orchestra of Cologne from the age of 15, he was very skilled with the flute, and the three flute pieces on the album are particularly rewarding.In this album, the group has created dynamic music with Kiveli Derken (Durken), who gave a remarkable performance in his tour in Japan with Christian Tetzlaff, and cellist Tanya Tetzlaff.
