Ian Partridge, the famous British tenor singer, will celebrate his 85th birthday on June 12, 2023. Partridge's repertoire ranges from Monteverdi and Elizabethan lute music to Schoenberg and Britten, but this album features 20 of his most beloved Schubert songs, which he sang on BBC radio between 1968 and 1972. Many of the songs are accompanied by his sister Jennifer, with whom he collaborated for a long time, giving many recitals and recordings. Ernest Rush is another pianist he trusts. Also included are three songs on which Partridge himself played piano and sang. Naxos Japan
